Call for Papers: "Ecological Integrity and Franciscan Thought: Interpretations, Innovations, and Interruptions"
Third Annual Franciscan Connections Virtual Conference; Thursday, June 20, 2024, 9.00 am – 14.00 pm (NY time) / 15.00-20.00 (CET time); Friday, June 21, 2024, 9.00 am – 14.00 pm (NY time) / 15.00-20.00 (CET time)
This interdisciplinary conference seeks to reflect on Franciscan values that promote sustainable practices. How do these values embody the concern for the well-being of others, caring engagement with humanity and the environment, and pursuit of personal growth and well-being? We want to understand the various interpretations that define and develop ecological crises and conversion. We are looking for the innovations that an integral Franciscan perspective adds to the work of a sustainable environment. Finally, we seek to understand the dynamics that will interrupt failed policies and practices when it comes to the care of our common home. Especially welcome are reflections on the realization of the United Nations’ seventeen Sustainability Development Goals from a Franciscan perspective.
